I'd book this for the UMM itself and a walk along a levada. You travel in an open-top jeep with a shared departure limit of 8 people. You'll need another option if you're booking alone.
There's about half an hour at Pico do Arieiro and an hour in Santana. The Levada do Castelejo walk covers about 2 km in 30 minutes. You also pass through the forest at Ribeiro Frio.
Your guide and pickup in Funchal or Caniço are included. Food and drinks cost extra. Ask about parking availability if you're driving from outside Funchal. Parking is free for the day when arranged.

Avoid the hudge jeep convoys and tasteless tours, and go with a local in our cool army UMM open top jeep, in a calm relaxed laidback trip driving trought the old roads and offroads, Visit the 3rd highest peak of Madeira pico do areeiro at 1818mts altitude, going local with a local for the best landscapes drinks and food in Santana were the tradicional houses are, and from there we will walk about 2km (30 min) on a levada. Stops for poncha and other island specials are also a must ;)
