East Madeira day tours: which one to choose

Most east days share three stops: Pico do Arieiro at 1,818 m, the laurel forest at Ribeiro Frio and the straw-roofed houses at Santana. After that the routes split, and how long you stand at each place is what separates them.

For a small group I'd take the eight-seat minibus, first in our ranking, which finishes at the Pico do Facho and Guindaste viewpoints. Its bookings need two travellers aged 19 to 64. The Surreal east tour is the other eight-seater and gives Santana 90 minutes.

For the lowest fare, the €33.90 day has seven stops and ends at Cristo Rei. The Lido coach is the most reviewed east day. The Feeling Madeira day gives Santana two hours, the longest stop there.
