Before you book

• Meet at the shop by the tennis court behind Dom Pedro Madeira in Machico. A paid Funchal return transfer is available by arrangement. Pickup is on Avenida Sá Carneiro near the CR7 museum, about an hour before the activity. Ask for a quote for pickup elsewhere.
• The lesson time can change with surf conditions. Watch for a message or call the day before. Book at least 12 hours ahead.
• Ages 8 to 88 can join. You need moderate fitness.
• Bring swimwear and a towel. Pack a hat and sun protection. Take suitable shoes. Bring water and a light snack.
• Food and drinks aren't included. Cancel at least 24 hours before the start for a full refund.
• Give this one a miss if you're pregnant, or if you have a back or spine injury or a heart condition.
• Up to 8 people per booking.

Programme

1. About 15 to 30 minutes of theory and a warm-up
2. an hour and a half of water practice with a certified coach
